SAILING TRIP

Whale Watching & Aurora Borealis

OFFER

Who wouldn't want to be able to marvel at the northern lights and watch whales up close? And all of this on a 100-year-old sailing ship, where you can hoist the sail if you want. I had the opportunity to travel through the Lofoten Islands on such a sailing ship in 2016. I was very excited and would like to share this experience with you. The trips start in Tromsø and we will explore different fjords for whales and northern lights. At the end of this brochure you will find the details and impressions of the last trips.

FLIGHTS / HOTEL

Various airlines offer flights to Tromso. I have put together suitable flights. In collaboration with Globetrotter Travel Services we will be able to book you the best possible package.

PROGRAM

It is a unique experience to be on a sailing ship in Northern Norway. You can find the full description of the trip below. If you have any questions, I will be happy to help you.

Note on the route: the final routing of the trip is decided on site by the expedition leader and captain on a daily basis, always adapted to the circumstances (wind/weather/wildlife). Wildlife and Aurora Borealis sightings cannot be guaranteed. Sightings of orcas and humpback whales depend heavily on the herring population in the area and are unpredictable. In recent years we have had frequent sightings.

WHAT THE PARTICIPANTS SAY

"With this trip I fulfilled a dream: to see and experience the Northern Lights and whales live. This dream came true, it was even exceeded. Every day we saw the Northern Lights and whales in a special environment. The idea of the boat trip is brilliant, It takes you to places that are difficult or impossible to reach by car and is also ideal for people who are not so good on foot. Thanks to Markus's planning, local knowledge and experience, I was not only able to experience this dream in a relaxed manner, but also "Thank you very much for your patience with us! It was an incredible experience" Michael

"Every single day on the trip was a highlight. Every day was different and exciting. Markus knows the region very well and can give lots of tips on the area. The time on the ship Antigua was indescribably beautiful. Markus took the time to... Every single participant had time and helped in many ways. I was definitely able to develop further as a "photographer" on this trip. The northern lights showed their best side during the time and you were able to apply what you had learned straight away. The whale watching was indescribable every minute "You just had to put the device aside every now and then and just enjoy it. As a repeat participant of the "Chasing Stars Workshops", I can very well imagine doing this trip again. 5 stars are almost not enough." Melanie

EXECUTION

There is no minimum number of participants. However, the maximum is set at 8 people to ensure high-quality photographic support. The ship has space for a maximum of 30 passengers. The photography workshops are exclusively run by Markus Eichenberger Photo & Film Productions carried out.
